Where we work

Areas we cover

We are based in Guildford and we keep our work close to home. That is not modesty, it is how we are able to turn up when we say we will.

Local, properly

Seven areas we know well

Each of these places builds differently. The housing stock, the planning authority and the practical business of getting materials to a site all change from one to the next, and knowing that in advance is most of what makes a job run smoothly.

Guildford

GU1 · GU2 · GU3 · GU4

We are based in Guildford, on Sheepfold Road. It is the town we know best and most of our work starts within a few miles of the front door.

Merrow

GU1 · GU4

Merrow sits on the east side of Guildford, running up to the Downs. It is one of the areas we work in most, and the housing here suits extending better than almost anywhere in the borough.

Burpham

GU1 · GU4

Burpham is a short drive from our yard and one of the areas we are in most weeks. It is a suburb with an old village centre, and the two halves need different things from a builder.

East Horsley

KT24

East Horsley is a village of large detached houses on generous plots, and that shapes everything about how you build here. The jobs are bigger, the plots are private, and the finish has to match the house.

Godalming

GU7 · GU8

Godalming is an old wool town with a lot of genuinely old buildings in it. Work here is as much about knowing what you are dealing with as it is about building.

Bramley

GU5

Bramley is a village with a very large conservation area and a lot of listed buildings in it. Knowing where the boundary runs is half the job here.

Albury

GU5

Albury sits in the Surrey Hills National Landscape, about three and a half miles east of Guildford. It is a beautiful place to build in and one of the most tightly protected.

Woking

GU21 · GU22

Woking is the largest town near us, about seven miles north of Guildford, and it has a wider range of housing than anywhere else on our patch.

Farnham

GU9 · GU10

Farnham is a Georgian market town with one of the largest conservation areas in Surrey, and building here is as much about consent as it is about construction.

Cranleigh

GU6

Cranleigh calls itself the largest village in England, and it has the housing mix of a small town with the planning constraints of open countryside around it.

Shalford

GU4

Shalford sits on the River Wey just south of Guildford, close enough to be a five minute drive from us and constrained enough that the river shapes a lot of what can be built.

Wonersh

GU5

Wonersh is a small village between Bramley and the Surrey Hills, with a historic centre that is tightly protected and a good deal of larger housing around it.

West Horsley

KT24

West Horsley sits on the edge of the North Downs between Guildford and Leatherhead, with a protected historic core and Green Belt on almost every side.

Somewhere else in Surrey?

These seven are where most of our work is, but they are not a boundary. We regularly work in Shalford, Worplesdon, Wonersh, Chilworth, Shere, West Horsley, Ripley, Farncombe and the villages in between. If you are within about half an hour of Guildford, ask us.
